As the master-planned community of Telfair prepares to open in Sugar Land, a dynamic Houston suburb ranked #1 in growth among the state's 45 largest cities.
Named for one of the oldest squares gracing the enchanting city of Savannah, Georgia, Telfair pays homage to its Southern inspiration with a neo-traditional master plan that includes numerous shady squares, landscaped with live oaks, magnolias, splashing fountains, vine-covered walls, and of course, mass plantings of azaleas.
Planned for approximately 3,000 homes, Telfair will offer a variety of home styles, including the first true Traditional Neighborhood Developments in the Houston region. The 2,018 acre master plan devotes approximately 300 acres to recreation, highlighted by a central 70-acre lake.
A landmark 1939 Gothic Revival building, a legacy of this land's history as a former prison farm, may be preserved as a civic or commercial centerpiece of the community.
